Program Overview

The EKG / Cardiac Monitor Technician Program at Stonecrest Health is a comprehensive, distance-learning training program designed to prepare students for entry-level roles in cardiac rhythm monitoring and electrocardiography support. This program provides foundational knowledge in cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrophysiology, lead placement, rhythm interpretation, and basic arrhythmia recognition.

Artifact identification and troubleshooting

12-lead and multi-lead ECG acquisition principles

Program Details

Students have 90 calendar days to complete online coursework and assessments. An extension of up to 28 days requires documented instructor approval before the deadline.

Students must attempt all required graded assessments and earn a cumulative grade of at least 70%: total graded points earned divided by total graded points possible, excluding practice activities. Instructor approval is required for a school Certificate of Completion.

National certification is separate. Certifying organizations determine eligibility and examination requirements. Examination fees are not included in the $550 program price. Completion does not guarantee national certification, employment, or an externship.
