Build your training plan around the role you want to pursue. ECG, EKG, and telemetry terminology can appear in different job titles, so read each employer’s duties and requirements carefully.
1. Compare the roles that interest you
Collect current job postings in your area and note the requested education, certification, experience, and scheduling expectations. Ask employers about any requirements that are unclear before assuming a training program matches the role.

2. Review the course content
Stonecrest’s EKG/ECG Telemetry Monitor Technician coursework covers cardiac anatomy and conduction, lead placement concepts, rhythm interpretation, artifact recognition, safety, and communication. Review the course outline and compare it with your learning needs.
3. Plan for school completion
The program uses sequential lessons, quizzes, and examinations. School completion requires all assigned requirements and a cumulative score of at least 70%. The completion period is 90 calendar days, and no externship is required for the school Certificate of Completion.
Tuition is $550, including textbook and applicable materials. Review current program information and ask about any separate certification examination costs.
4. Check certification and employer requirements
A school Certificate of Completion is not national certification. A certification organization may have separate training, experience, examination, and fee requirements. Check these directly with the certifier and compare them with the requirements of employers you may apply to.
5. Prepare an accurate application
Keep records of your completed coursework, assessments, and any additional qualifications. Describe your training and experience accurately. Completing a program does not guarantee certification, licensure, wages, or employment.
